Avature for Recruiting

When responding to an open job req, how many Recruiters have ever said to a hiring leader: “Let me develop a sourcing strategy” or “Let’s see what comes in after we post it”? How about changing that with this response: “Here’s what we have in our portfolio of talent” and/or “Here’s who I’ve been connecting with in the industry”

Adding value as a Recruiter is no new concept, and neither is a great recruiting CRM. Both have been around for years. Many think of and consider CRM’s a Sourcer’s tool. For Recruiters that find themselves wasting time on managing prospects on spreadsheets, network drives, Outlook folders, or in an ATS… Think Avature.

We recently shared the list of the top 10 Job Search & Job Seeker iPhone Apps.  A couple of months later (yesterday) Apple announced another milestone, with 3 billion downloaded Apps.  That’s an increase of a billion in 3 months.

In a few days 2009 will be in the past, opening up a new year with new opportunities.  Times were certainly tough this past year.  How tough?

One organization created job board coupons for Recruiters, while recruiting budgets were hit hard, and attendance at industry conferences was also down significantly - by some projections as much as 75%.  Whether or not you had the opportunity to attend ERE, or Kennedy/OnRec the reviews were mixed.  For many, the fall ERE conference led the conference pack with the most positive feedback.  SHRM’s Staffing Management Conference had the most attendees, and they are predicting 800+ for the Spring 2010 event.
