Top 10 Job Search & Job Seeker iPhone Apps
Posted by Jason
Over 2 billion apps downloaded on the App Store and counting…
And as you can probably guess, yeah, there’s and app for that (anything you can imagine related to a job search including, researching companies, developing or beaming your Resume, prepping for an interview, searching for jobs, and career counseling).
Don’t waste your time or money more than you need to. After testing and researching most of the apps available in this space, I have identified the 10 best (and most helpful) job seeker apps and job seeker tools as of 11/1/09.
COMPANY RESEARCH:
CareerBliss (Free)
Powered by CareerBliss.com, this app contains helpful information on company reviews, salaries, job searching, interview tips, and more from current and former employees.
ORGANIZE:
Good Job ($2.99)
Keep your job search organized with all activities related to your job search! With the Good Job app, you can track jobs from multiple sites, contacts, tasks, interview schedules, and more.
JOB SEARCH:
LinkUp (Free)
From LinkUp.com this is a company direct job search engine, and only lists jobs that are found on company and employer web sites.
Real-Time Jobs (Free)
Not just for twitter users, real-time jobs was just released last week. This app enables job seekers to attach an online CV, social media profile, and/or a video CV to job offers that have been posted to Twitter with a single click.
Job Compass (Free)
One of the highest rated job search apps, Job Compass searches through millions of jobs across the U.S. You can also plot them on a map in relation to your current position, in addition to applying online.
FOR YOUR RESUME:
Resume PRO ($2.99)
Create a PDF resume on your phone with Resume PRO by inputting personal and professional information. You can preview your resume and email as a PDF to yourself or someone else. There’s also a generic cover letter you can include when you send your resume.
BeamME CV and Resume Sender ($5.99)
With this app you can have a business card and professional résumé ready at all times. Upload your Résumé and create your own vCard using the app and beamME CV will let you easily send them to any phone number (including non-smartphones), or e-mail address.
INTERVIEW PREP:
Interview Pro ($1.99)
This app will help in prepping for that next interview. You can search by skills, review related questions, and areas to focus on. There are several free and fee apps for interviews - a handful are free - but you get what you pay for. This app also has the highest ratings from users in comparison.
NETWORKING:
LinkedIn (Free)
The LinkedIn app allows you to leverage the power of your professional network on-the-go. Search for people you are preparing to meet, quickly find contact information, and send and receive invitations and messages.
BeamME (Free)
With BeamMe you can send your virtual business cards (Vcard) sent to devices via SMS and email. The recipient typically only has to open the message and click one button to add you to their contact list with no special phone, software or registration required.
The job search process can be long and tedious. These (and other) apps should make it more convenient on the go, if nothing else.

Jason…you missed one.
Our LinkUp Iphone app helps job seekers find ONLY those jobs on company websites, never from a job board which might re purpose one job dozens of times. 70% of all LINKUP jobs are never advertised elsewhere, meaning off the company’s own website. LinkUp is a true job search engine, and still is under the radar.
Of course it is free and available here: http://bit.ly/linkupiphone
